Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) asserted their dominance over the mighty Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). KKR chased down the target of 183 runs inside 17 overs as there was carnage at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Venkatesh Iyer played a dashing knock of 50 runs in 30 balls. Venkatesh Iyer had come into bat at no.3 position and struck 4 huge sixes and 3 fours as all the variations against him were proving to be ineffective.

KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer too played a fine knock of 39 runs in 24 balls as he along with Venkatesh Iyer stitched an invaluable partnership of 75 runs in 44 balls and made sure that they don’t give RCB a chance in the match. RCB’s bowlers were taken to the cleaners by Phil Salt & Sunil Narine in the powerplay overs itself as they conceded 85 runs for the loss of no wickets.

KKR fans would be pumped up as now they have won 2 matches on the bounce and now are placed at 2nd position on the points table with 4 points from 2 matches and an NRR (Net Run Rate) of +1.047. It won’t be wrong to say that under the mentorship of Gautam Gambhir, the side has rediscovered their mojo and is looking a team to beat.

Credit to Sunil Narine as the pressure was off and we had to go and finish the formalities- Venkatesh Iyer

Venkatesh Iyer was having an interaction with the media. Venkatesh Iyer lauded the batting performance of Sunil Narine who was in the beast mode and said that it was very important to capitalize on the platform laid. Venkatesh Iyer gave credit to his fiancé for his blistering knock against the mighty Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

“To be honest, it got better as the game went on, one end in particular, the Pavilion end and credit to Narine, the pressure was off and we had to go and finish the formalities. It was very important to capitalize on the platform laid, the left-arm spinner was bowling and it was my duty to go after the bowling,” said Venkatesh Iyer.

“Also my fiance is here and I would like to credit her. Vyshak bowled really well, used the change-ups nicely. To face him was a little tough, pace off on that pitch in totality was tough. Even when we bowled quick deliveries, it was tough,” he added.
