He was adjourned as Player of the Match. Virat Kohli scored 70* runs and backed the orange cap by scoring 500 runs in 9 matches.

Former Indian player Irfan Pathan praises Virat Kohli’s innings against Gujarat Titans since we all know that Virat struggles a bit against spin but he proved everyone wrong as he smashed runs against spin itself. After the match, Virat spoke about the critics, and strike rate and he also taunted commentators who spoke that he struggles against spin and can’t generate runs.
Irfan said:
“I don’t understand where all the talks of strike rate come in. It actually disappoints me. I’ve been talking about it from day one. Don’t question that because he’s a big-match player. He always wins you games. And today look what he did. Look, it was a slow start. He played down the ground well. He played the slog sweep well as well. And this shot sweep shot. He doesn’t play that much, but he played all around today, and that is why he’s able to get that success,” Pathan told Star Sports.
Irfan appreciates his innings and even says that he proved once again why he is the legend of Indian Cricket. Till now Kohli has smashed 500 runs by scoring 4 half-centuries and one century. Scoring consecutive 500+ runs has been done for the seventh time equaling with David Warner.
