Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) premier pacer Sandeep Sharma was the stand out performer for the team against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Sandeep Sharma took the key wicket of KL Rahul which proved to be the turning point of the encounter. Sandeep Sharma bowled a wide off-stump delivery and made KL Rahul to reach out for the delivery and his catch was taken by Dhruv Jurel in the covers region.

Sandeep Sharma has been the dark horse for the franchise as he is quite experienced and he knows how to deceive the batters with his variations which is utmost important in the T20 format. LSG skipper KL Rahul would be disappointed with his performance as he couldn’t take the team over the finish line.

Ravichandran Ashwin was seen bowling in the death overs as once again, his variations were quite hard to pick for the batters. He may have conceded 35 runs in his 4 over spell but he took the massive wicket of the pinch hitter Marcus Stoinis which gave the belief to RR that they can spoil the party of LSG as the visitors were in complete control of the run chase.

Sandeep Sharma is a character and does the dirty work for us- Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin was having an interaction with the media and said that Sandeep Sharma has been the top 5 bowler in the IPL and said that he is a character. Ravichandran Ashwin pointed out that Sandeep Sharma has been the cover for Prasidh Krishna and called Sandeep as the fighter.

“The game is built by perceptions, if you look at the way Sandy has bowled, he has been a top-5 bowler in the IPL. He’s a character, he does the dirty work for us, and did a lot to cover for Prasidh in the last season as well. I see him as a fighter,”
