Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg expressed that SunRisers Hyderabad(SRH) will try and target to get one of Harry Brook and Travis Head. Both have had experience in IPL. Head played for Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) in 2016 and 2017 while Harry Brook played the last season for SRH.

After Harry Brook’s performances for the England National Team and seeing his potential SRH secured the services of the young batsman for 16.25 crores. Rajasthan Royals(RR) and RCB also looked interested in him but SRH outbid them. Brook failed to justify his price tag managing just 190 runs at 21.11 in 11 innings. He scored a century against Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) at Eden Gardens in his 3rd game but failed to continue his good form scoring just 74 runs in 8 games which included 3 ducks.

Harry Brook started in the middle order for SRH in the last season but was promoted to open the innings from his second game and played in the middle order again in the business end of the tournament. Brook has looked in good touch recently. He was omitted from the CWC squad initially but was picked later after his impressive performances in The Hundred, where he scored an impressive ton, and for England. Brook is currently in the Caribbean, where he just played a match-winning knock of 31 off just 7 balls in the third T20I.

SRH spent too much on Harry Brook- Brad Hogg

Hogg said on his YouTube channel,

“They got rid of Harry Brook and threw him back into the auction. They spent too much on him thinking that big things were going to come from him. But, he is first on the list and Travis Head is second. SRH have a lot of money to spend,”

Hogg added,

“They know everyone is going to be after Travis Head, so they will be hoping to get Harry Brook back for about 20 percent of the price they paid for him in the last auction. That will free up a little bit of money to strengthen the bowling department with an overseas quick, but also they need strength in the spin department, a wicket-taking option and I think they will go for Mujeeb-ur-Rahman,”

SRH finished last in IPL 2023 and will enter the mini-auction with 34 crores with 6 slots to fill with 3 overseas picks.

Mitchell Starc will be the man that GT picks up- Brag Hogg on Gujarat Titans’ potential picks at the IPL 2024 auction

GT will enter the mini-auction with the highest purse having 38.15 crores left in their bank. The void Hardik Pandya left is hard to fill but they will try to fill it with overseas all-rounders.

Former KKR player, Brag Hogg feels that GT will go hard after Mitchell Starc and Travis Head.

“They have the most money to spend, and they are going to go hard out for Travis Head. They want an explosive opening batter and he is the man for the job. They also have enough money in the bank for a big overseas quick to really complement Shami in the bowling department, so watch out for Mitchell Starc,” Hogg said.

“He will be the man that GT picks up. He will be a great acquisition and don’t be scared GT fans, he will really come this time. Just imagine Shami and Starc opening the bowling for GT in the powerplay, they are going to be hard to beat,” Hogg added.
