The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were able to make it to the finals after their second attempt, defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR) at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Now, they (SRH) will be facing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the championship title at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on May 26, Sunday.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad were defeated by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 2016 IPL Qualifier 1. Till now, the SRH have been developing their skills, especially on the bowling side. And that was not for nothing. They (SRH) finally made it to the finale after kicking off Rajasthan Royals (RR) to register a 36-run victory.
Heinrich Klaasen’s quickfire half-century (50 off 34) proved to be very crucial in setting up a competitive total of 175/9 for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Precisely, Shahbaz Ahmed (3 for 23) and Abhishek Sharma (2 for 24), did an excellent job in restricting Rajasthan Royals to 139 for 7 during the chase, indicating a disciplined bowling performance from the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

A video was shared after the match from the SRH, where the skipper Pat Cummins summed up the game while praising the spinners and sending a gentle warning to the KKRs.
“Wonderful game tonight. We got 170-odd (175 for 9) with the bat. We probably would have liked a few more (runs), but then went out to bowl, decent powerplay and then the spin twins Abhishek and Shahbaz were amazing, took key wickets through the middle (overs) and ended up restricting them to… (139 for 7),” said by Cummins in the dressing room.
“Onto the final in 48 hours. We’ll see you there. The guys are pumped!” Cummins further added.
The final match of this IPL 2024 edition will be taking place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. It will be interesting to see who bags the championship title of this IPL edition.
