Eoin Morgan, a former captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), is optimistic about the team’s chances in the forthcoming IPL 2024, pointing to the team’s potential for revival because of the comeback of duo Gautam Gambhir as the mentor and captain Shreyas Iyer.
Eoin Morgan, who had been a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team from 2011-13 and took over captaincy duties from Dinesh Karthik mid-season in 2020 and helped Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to reached the final against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) of IPL 2021.
Eoin Morgan have strong believe that Gambhir’s winning mentality and Iyer’s leadership will play a crucial role in guiding KKR to success in the upcoming IPL 2024. Morgan thinks that Iyer and Gautam Gambhir will provide the team with all-around mentorship.

An IPL expert with Jio Cinema, Morgan shared his thoughts during a discussion, expressing assurance over the significance of bringing Gambhir back, a two-time IPL winning captain, as a mentor.
“Gambhir along with Shreyas will be mentoring KKR in every facet, and given the record that he’s had in the Knight Rider shirt, I think it will make a positive impact”, Morgan stated.

Discussing about the IPL auction 2024, Morgan highlighted that Australian left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc as a potential important asset. He said that Starc could trigger a bidding war between KKR and GT, as both the team is looking for a formidable pacer.
“I think Mitchell Starc alongside Pat Cummins , Josh Hazlewood , probably Gerald Coetzee as overseas bowlers will be the most sought after. KKR and GT need good pacers at the moment,” Morgan said.
“I don’t see many batters going for huge amounts of money. Brook is going to be in there and will be sought after. Head is going to create a strong buzz, given the last year and a half to two years he has had in all formats of the game,” he explained.
