On Wednesday Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) faced in an epic clash at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley’s Stadium. Rajasthan lost yet another match in a nail-biting thriller and can’t make it through the playoffs, Rajasthan Royals lost the match by 20 runs. Skipper Sanju Samson smashed 86 runs went in vain and couldn’t finish the hurdle.

Delhi Capitals (DC) get off to a rollicking start

Delhi Capitals had a flying start in the first innings young Aussie opener Jake Fraser McGurk smashed a quick half-century in less than 20 balls which created history becoming the first player to score 3 half-centuries in less than 20 balls. Southpaw batsman Abhishek Porel also smashed a half-century, Proteas youngster Tristan Stubbs gave some finishing touches in the end and took the total to 221 runs.

Delhi Capitals dominates with bat

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bowl first which cost them badly, from powerplay Delhi Capitals kept their head high and dominated in the powerplay Jake and Shai Hope registered a 60-run partnership in which 50 was alone scored by Jake Fraser McGurk. After the powerplay, Delhi Capitals continued their dominance, and Abhishek Porel took charge and started scoring runs, he also smashed a half-century and scored 65 runs.

Later in the death overs Proteas youngster Tristan Stubbs showed his carnage and vintage batting scoring 41 runs in just 20 balls three fours and three sixes. At the end of the first innings Delhi Capitals registered 221 runs which was way beyond expectations after a firing start, it slowed down in between but still Delhi Capitals managed to reach that score. Ravichandran Ashwin was the only bowler who bowled an economical spell and scalped 3 wickets for Rajasthan Royals.

Sanju Samson’s 86 runs went in vain

When Rajasthan Royals came to chase a mammoth total of 222 runs, didn’t execute well Yashasvi Jaiswal lost his wicket but skipper Sanju Samson took the charge from powerplay and smashed boundaries. The powerplay went well despite losing 2 wickets, felt like Rajasthan Royals would chase the total easily.

Sanju Samson charged up more and dealt more with boundaries and scored 86 runs eight fours and 6 sixes which went in vain. In the 17th over Sanju Samson played a lofted shot on long off and Shai Hope took a solid catch near the boundary line but later it turned out to be controversial it says that Shai Hope touched the boundary line while catching the ball but the umpire gave out and somehow match took a twist after that dismissal and Rajasthan Royals failed to chase the target and lost the match by 20 runs.

Delhi Capitals bowlers strike Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals were on a roll as they were chasing 222 runs and skipper Sanju Samson was the lone warrior but still Delhi Capitals managed to restrict Rajasthan Royals up to 201 except Ishant Sharma, every bowler picked a wicket and the turning point was Sanju Samson’s controversial catch caught by Shai Hope. Kuldeep Yadav was adjourned as Player Of the Match. Delhi Capitals have obstruct every team’s flow after winning the match against Rajasthan Royals.
