Delhi Capitals’ (DC) destructive right handed batter Prithvi Shaw finally played a breath-taking knock of 43 runs in 27 balls and finally silenced all the critics. The peculiarity of Prithvi Shaw‘s knock was that first he got his eye in and then played some scintillating shots as he struck 4 fours and 2 sixes and looked in the complete zone after having a forgettable last couple of IPL seasons with DC.
Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad’s recent slump in the form might worry the management as the burden of captaincy perhaps may be affecting his gameplan. CSK needed a turbulent start while chasing 192 runs and now it won’t be wrong to say that the side is badly missing the services of Devon Conway who is expected to be back in the later half of the tournament.
It won’t be a bad move if CSK make Ajinkya Rahane open the batting along with Ruturaj Gaikwad as Rahane had open the batting for his previous franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR), Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and bring back the veteran Moeen Ali back into the playing 11 which will also strengthen their bowling line up

Shane Watson was having an interaction with Jio Cinema. Shane Watson pointed out that DC’s biggest issues in the last couple of years has been their opening partnership. Shane Watson stated that there is massive pressure on David Warner as Prithvi Shaw hasn’t been able to perform according to his credentials. Shane Watson was quite optimistic that there is enough hunger for Prithvi Shaw to perform at this level.
“For the Delhi Capitals one of the biggest issues in the last couple of years has been the opening partnership. Their average has been among the lowest in the IPL. A big part of that has not been David Warner. Warner has scored plenty of runs. It’s usually been his partner. And for a lot of games that’s been Prithvi Shaw. Tonight, he played really well,” said Shane Watson.
“That sixth over against Mustafizur Rahman was exceptional batting. Delhi are relying on Prithvi Shaw. Unfortunately, he hasn’t produced the goods for them in the last couple of years. But this is an incredible sign. Let’s hope that hunger is there and stays throughout this IPL,” he added.
