Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are through to the final of IPL 2024 after defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 36 runs in Qualifier 2. Now they will face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) which will be a repeat of Qualifier 1.
Skipper Pat Cummins was pretty confident about the team and the way they performed was remarkable. Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 176 runs and they restricted Rajasthan Royals to 139 and won the match. Spinners played a huge role for Sunrisers Hyderabad, a sudden collapse for Rajasthan Royals made it into trouble.
Pat Cummins lauds his teammates
Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins praises his teammates after the match he said:
“The boys have been fantastic all season. There’s a great vibe in the squad as you can see and the final was the goal at the start of the season and we made it,” Cummins said after the win.
“We knew our strength was our batting and we wouldn’t underestimate the experience we have in this squad, it’s a dream having Bhuvi (Bhuvneshwar Kumar), Nattu (T Natarajan) and (Jaydev) Unadkat, make my job easy,” Cummins said.
“That was a surprise, tried to stick one out of him with a couple of right-handers and he bowled beautifully and those two won it with their bowling in the middle overs. 170 was a tough chase and had we got a couple of wickets we knew we had a chance.”
Pat Cummins also thanked the staff members of the team for their immense support throughout the season.
Pat Cummins lauds Daniel Vettori decision
Later Pat Cummins was also asked about who made that decision to bring Shahbaz Ahmed as an impact sub, and he replied:
“Dan Vettori, left-arm orthodox and wanted as many left-arm orthodox as possible.”
