Rohit Sharma is focusing on timing the ball more- Piyush Chawla

Piyush Chawla was having an interaction with the Star Sports and was impressed with the performance of skipper Rohit Sharma in Asia Cup 2023. Piyush Chawla pointed out that when India gets a good start and openers perform exceedingly well then the side often gets a big score.

“This is the identity of a big player; when we approach a big tournament, he comes back into form at the right time, and he has shown this at the Asia Cup 2023. This is the Rohit Sharma we all know. He is not trying to hit the ball hard; it’s just lazy elegance from him. He is focusing on timing the ball more, and from the outside, it looks so fun to watch because he makes batting look very easy.”

“These signs are good for Indian cricket because when your openers are giving you a good start, you often get a bigger score, and it helps the middle order take time. And it is very important that when your middle order is in form, if your openers always give you a good start, it becomes very good for the team,” he added.
