India started their Caribbean tour in a grand fashion after winning the opening Test match. Yashasvi Jaiswal notched up a brilliant knock of 171 runs in 387 balls and smashed 16 fours and 1 six. Yashasvi Jaiswal formed a massive opening partnership of 229 runs with skipper Rohit Sharma.
India’s experiment of promoting Yashasvi Jaiswal up the order did wonders for the team. The management though would be worried with the form of Shubman Gill & vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane who couldn’t trouble the scorers and were dismissed cheaply.
I had some feeling that he would start well- Jwala Singh
Jwala Singh was having an interaction with PTI and stated that he is quite delighted to see the rise of Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jwala Singh pointed out that Yashasvi has played world-class bowlers under pressure and gave the example of IPL.
“I am happy to see him grow. I had some feeling that he would start well. He has spent four good seasons in the IPL and also in domestic cricket. He has played most of the world-class bowlers under a lot of pressure, especially in the IPL,”
“He has the idea about playing with top-quality bowlers. As a player, it is important to have the habit of making runs. As a coach, I always teach my players to see the ball and not the bowler and try to react to the ball well,” he added.

Jwala Singh stated that Yashasvi Jaiswal was quite happy with the success of the batter and said that the batter needs to believe in his ability and play every ball on the merit. Jwala Singh pointed out that Yashasvi needs to keep it simple.
“There will always be nine fielders, whatever match you play, whether it’s T20 or one-day or Test. As a batter, you need to be in the present and face each and every ball on merit and believe in your ability. I am glad that Yashasvi is able to do this on the ground and is proving me right.” said Jwala Singh.
“I think this will be a very good start in international cricket, but he needs to keep it simple. As a player it is important to do your best for the team, scoring runs for the team is a job for any player, and then look ahead,” he added.
