Indian Cricket team is all set to take on West Indies commencing on 12th July. The 5 T20Is are scheduled to take place on 03rd August. The left-arm speedster Arshdeep Singh is all set to lead the bowling attack. Arshdeep Singh had a pretty IPL 2023 season with his franchise Punjab Kings (PBKS)

India is without Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma as the new chief selector has shown faith in Hardik Pandya’s brigadier. The Ajit Agarkar selection panel have brought back the spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav & Yuzvendra Chahal as the duo can spurn a web with their foxy variations.

The fast bowling unit looks light- Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his YouTube channel and said about India’s bowling lineup and pointed out that India’s attack is light. Aakash Chopra heaped praise on the rising pacer Arshdeep Singh.

“The fast-bowling unit is looking light. Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar are India’s fast bowlers. If we go one by one, Arshdeep Singh shouldn’t be a point of discussion, he has been absolutely outstanding, he is gold dust,” he added.

“However, the Punjab Kings halved his stature. They didn’t get him to bowl where he should have bowled. I feel they marginalized him slightly. An outstanding player who had more ability to do well but you didn’t let him realize his potential because you took away the new ball from him.” he added.

Great Chance for India

The selection panel have backed Hardik Pandya as the skipper for the Series commencing from 5th August. The senior statesmen like Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma have been rested for the 5 T20I match series and the inexperienced players like Tilak Verma & Yashasvi Jaiswal have been given a chance to showcase their credentials after a terrific IPL 2023.

West Indies who had a forgettable T20 WC 2022 would be keen to form a unit which can thrive in any conditions. The problem with the Men in Maroon is that they don’t have many batters which can provide stability to the team when the team is in a precarious position.
