Virat Kohli was the skipper last time when India played Test series against South Africa in their back yard in 2021-22. It was quite an embarrassing defeat for the former skipper Virat Kohli‘s unit who couldn’t win the series after being 1-0 up in the series and lost the series by 2-1.
Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli would be keen to prove the critics wrong by performing exceedingly well in the 2 Test match series. In the recent times, India’s bowling unit has performed exceptionally well and once again the onus will be on Bumrah & Siraj to dismantle the opponent.
Head coach Rahul Dravid will have to pull a rabbit out of the hat as Proteas have the knack of playing well against all odds. It won’t be wrong to say that the Test series is going to be the battle of the pacers as we can expect low scoring thrillers on dusty wickets most probably.

S Sreesanth was having an interaction with First Post and picked Virat Kohli & KL Rahul as the players to watch out for against the dangerous Proteas. Sreesanth pointed out that Virat Kohli takes as his personal responsibility in delivering excellence. Sreesanth was quite sure that India are favorites to win the Test series against South Africa.
“Virat loves to keep proving, rather than to anybody but to himself. I think he’s that cricketer who actually plays with that pride and he takes that pride in a very good way, not in an egoistic way. So pride for me, and for Virat also I’m sure it’s like personal responsibility in delivering excellence. So, I will go with Virat and KL Rahul,” said S Sreesanth.
“I think this is the best opportunity. Since the time South Africa came back into the international scene, this time we do have a great opportunity and a great chance to win a series there which is like a dream come true,” he stated.
“I would love to see India winning the Test series. It will be like winning the World Cup because winning against South Africa in South Africa is not going to be easy but as the ad says, ‘Mazaa ayeega’,” he added.
