Indian cricket team would be keen to take revenge against South Africa when the two sides would meet for 2 Test match series commencing from 26th December 2023. KL Rahul will have to bat responsibly in the summit series. KL Rahul may keep the wickets for the contest.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma & the star batter Virat Kohli cannot make the mistake of taking South Africa lightly this time after losing the series by 1-0 previous time in 2021-22. Virat Kohli would be tested as a batter as the conditions in South Africa assist the pacers a lot and later the pitches become dusty helping the spinners which makes the surface no less than a minefield on the last day of the match.
I want to see KL Rahul keep wickets in South Africa- Harbhajan Singh
Harbhajan Singh was having an interaction with Sports Tak. Harbhajan Singh pointed out that India’s batters will have to bat well against Proteas and said that India’s bowling is in supreme form. Harbhajan Singh was quite amazed by the fact that Umesh Yadav was not selected for the red ball series.
“I want to see KL Rahul keep wickets in South Africa. I don’t think he has a lot of interest in wicketkeeping, but he did it when he had to for the team. It could be possible that Ishan Kishan is the designated wicketkeeper and Rahul plays as a pure batter. If I had to choose one, I would go with Rahul,” said Harbhajan Singh.
“India will have to bat well. If we manage to bat well on those pitches, this is our best chance to win in South Africa because our bowling is very good. Mohammed Shami is in great form, then we have Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj,” he stated.
“I don’t know why Umesh Yadav wasn’t picked in the squad. South Africa are a good team, but they aren’t as dominating as they used to be. If India have to win, it will be crucial to score at least 350 runs in the first innings,” he added.
