Indian cricket team registered a resounding victory over Pakistan in ODI WC 2023. India won the match by 7 wickets, the skipper Rohit Sharma played a barnstorming knock of 86 runs in 63 balls and struck 6 fours and 6 sixes. It seemed as if Rohit Sharma was toying with the bowlers as all the variations were proving to be ineffective.
The destructive opening batter Shubman Gill was back in the playing 11 and replaced Ishan Kishan. Shubman Gill missed the first 2 matches due to dengue. Shubman was slowly getting into the groove before the left-arm speedster Shaheen Afridi got the better of him and dismissed him for 16 runs in 11 balls.
Vintage Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma was looking unstoppable and was fearless in his approach. It looked as if Rohit Sharma wanted to make a statement that his ton against Afghanistan cricket side was not a fluke. Rohit Sharma used the crease smartly and didn’t panic even when Virat Kohli was dismissed without troubling the scorers on 16 runs in 18 balls and had struck 3 fours.
Pakistani fast bowlers applied short ball technique against Rohit but it didn’t work well. Rohit anticipated a lot of shot ball deliveries and all the prep of Pakistani bowlers went into the vain. Rohit would be disappointed that he missed out on a consecutive ton by mere 15 runs.

Indian cricket team displayed a never to say die attitude against Pakistan. It was a collective effort by Rohit’s brigadier and they showed that they are quite invincible in all the 3 facets of the game. Head coach Rahul Dravid & management would be ecstatic after the team’s performance against the arch rivals Pakistan.
Indian cricket team now have won 3 matches out of 3 and a couple of more wins would put India close to the Semi Final qualification. India currently are placed on the top of the points table with 6 points from 3 matches and an NRR of +1.82. The side have made a terrific start and would be keen to make the most of the winning start.
