Veteran Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar praised Indian captain Rohit Sharma after watching his inning against Pakistan on 10th September. He said that Rohit Sharma is now a better Test player than he was in 2019, Sanjay appreciated his shot-playing ability by saying that Rohit Sharma still has the natural ability to hit big sixes.
Rohit Sharma was continuously criticized for not being able to play Pakistani left-arm pacers which we’ve witnessed since the 2017 Champions trophy but in the game against the rival team on 10th September, he showed his skills and made blistering 56 runs in 49 balls world-class Pakistan bowlers. along with Shubman Gill
Rohit Sharma added 121 runs for the first wicket and handled the opposition left-arm pacers very well which left his critics in shock. although he didn’t turn his inning into a big score and throw his wicket on Shadab’s over but his half-century did the damage required.

Sanjay Manjrekar praised captain’s knock and gave some suggestions while chatting with Star Sports
“He got 5 hundreds in the last World Cup, right? My assessment of Rohit Sharma is that his defence has actually gotten much better. He is a much better Test player now than he was in 2019. So I have no issues,” said Sanjay Manjrekar.
“It’s about converting those starts into big hundreds because that involves running a lot of ones and twos later on in the innings. But, on the pure quality of defence, Rohit is better today. That natural ability to hit the big shots is still there,” he added.
“His One-Day credentials are still in doubt and we don’t know if he would make the same kind of impact.” – Sanjay Manjrekar
Suryakumar Yadav is in the World Cup squad and he didn’t a single chance in the Asia cup, if Rohit want to test his potential before the world he has to win first 2 games of super 4 so that he change the squad for one formality game. Suryakumar’s numbers in this format are not impressive and this Asia Cup is the perfect stage for him to cement his place in the World cup. Sanjay Manjrekar addressed this situation and said that Suryakumar has to get warm up same as KL Rahul.
“KL Rahul coming in at that position is good for Indian cricket because they wanted to test his match fitness out. If India is looking to test the waters before the World Cup, then you must give Suryakumar a game. His One-Day credentials are still in doubt and we don’t know if he would make the same kind of impact,” said Sanjay Manjrekar.
