Indian cricket team will have their task cut out against the dynamic skipper Babar Azam. Pakistan’s star batter struck a valiant ton against Nepal. Babar Azam though will have to bring his ‘A’ game against India on 2nd September at Pallekele, Sri Lanka.
The surface at Pallekele is expected to assist the spinners and at the same time, there is a rain threat as which is not a good sign for the fans & spectators as there is a a lot of hype for the contest. If rain intervenes, then we can have a short game which won’t be less of entertainment.
We have a good bowling attack- Sourav Ganguly
Sourav Ganguly was having an interaction with Star Sports and stated that skipper Babar Azam is a good player and can frustrate Indian bowlers with his attacking brand of cricket. Sourav Ganguly pointed out that the trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami & Mohammed Siraj makes a serious fast bowling attack.
“Babar Azam is a good player; there is no doubt about it. They [India] will have to bowl at him [during the World Cup]. Before that, they will have to bowl at him in the Asia Cup. India will have plans for him, we have a good bowling attack. [Jasprit] Bumrah, [Mohammed] Shami, [Mohammed] Siraj is a serious fast bowling attack,” said Sourav Ganguly.
“Babar will also have to bat well to score runs against them because he knows they are up against a good fast bowling attack. India will have to bowl well to Babar Azam and vice-versa,” he added.
Lethal pace attack of India
The management would be tempted to play Shardul Thakur who not only bolsters India’s batting lineup but at the same time, is a wicket-taking machine. It would be interesting to see what combination the Men in Blue filed in a crunch game as we can expect a cracker of a contest.
Hardik Pandya can play the role of 6th bowler and the flamboyant pacer has developed pace over the last couple of years and can be a handy fast bowler for the team. India would be banking on the duo of Mohammed Shami & Mohammed Siraj to make early inroads.
