IND vs NZ: “Good Start To The Tournament; Job Is Half Done”- Rohit Sharma Speaks On India’s Triumphant Run

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma sprinkled praise on India’s winning run in the tournament so far. Rohit Sharma‘s brigadier is the only unbeaten team after slamming New Zealand in Dharamsala. India have won all five matches in the ICC World Cup 2023.

India defeated New Zealand without facing any trouble while chasing 274 on the batting surface of Dharamsala. The Indian skipper expressed delight at their good start to the ICC World Cup 2023.

While batting first on the batting track of Dharamsala Indian bowlers attacked the batter with their good line and length and got both openers very early. Once again, Young Rachin Ravindra came to the rescue for the Kiwis, along with Daryl Mitchell.

Both players pulled the thing back for New Zealand and shared a score of 150 or more. Daryl Mitchell’s ton contributed to a decent total of 273.

The Indian batter started well as usual. Shubman Gill took his time at the start, but Rohit Sharma looked in an aggressive mood once again, but he was very unfortunate with the way he got out. A few quick wickets pulled New Zealand back into the game, but Virat Kohli stood for his team once again and pulled off a stunning victory for his team from a pressure situation. but he failed to get his second hundred in the ICC World Cup 2023.

In the post-match presentation, skipper Rohit Sharma praised their game play and expressed that they still needed to be balanced.

“Good start to the tournament. The job is half done. It’s important to stay balanced. Not to think too far ahead. It is important to stay in the present. Shami took the opportunity with both hands. He has experience in these conditions and is a class bowler.”

Rohit Sharma also praised their players for playing such a good brand of cricket in the tournament

“At one stage, we were thinking of 300 or more. Credit to our bowlers at the back end of the inning. There is nothing much to say about Virat; he has done this thing for us so many times. He backed himself up to get the job done,” said Rohit Sharma.

“Kohli and Jadeja pulled us back when we lost a few quick wickets in the middle. Fielding is something we pride ourselves on. Today the fielding was not clinical. Ravindra Jadeja is one of the best fielders in the world. We know that fielding is something that will decide a lot of things going forward in the tournament,” he added.
