India chased down the revised target of 143 without breaking their sweat as the openers Rohit Sharma & Shubman Gill dictated the terms. Rohit Sharma seemed in complete control of the run chase against a Nepal team that showed fighting spirit. Nepal have bowled out for 230 inside 50 overs thanks to spirited innings from Aasif Sheikh and Sompal Kami.

Indian fans would be delighted as the Shubman & Rohit dominated the terms which may be a concern for the Super 4 stage for the sides. India though has a lot to ponder as their bowlers weren’t that much disciplined in their approach which hurt the team.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill both hit- Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his YouTube channel and said that Rohit Sharma and Shubman dictated the terms and made a huge statement about Rohit Sharma. Aakash Chopra pointed out that Shubman Gill played with timing and Rohit Sharma showed his might.

“Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill both hit. It seemed like they were having problems at the start as the ball was moving. Then it rained when India were 17 for no loss, the match was reduced to 23 overs and there was no chance of us letting them come close in 23 overs,” said Aakash Chopra.

“It seemed like the ground is big, but Rohit Sharma hit such massive sixes. Shubman Gill also batted well. Shubman Gill played with timing and Rohit Sharma showed his might, and India showed that we love Nepal a lot but our team is better,” he added.

Mohammed Shami got the edges but they were not holding the catches- Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra said that it was quite tough to choose the player of the match and according to him Ravindra Jadeja was the contender who broke the second partnership and then took 2 wickets. Aakash Chopra had high hopes from Mohammed Shami & Kuldeep Yadav but wasn’t disappointed with their performance.

“It was difficult to choose the Player of the Match. I will say look for Ravindra Jadeja because he was the guy who broke the partnership (took the second wicket) and then took two more wickets – three wickets in a jiffy. You again saw beautiful bowling from Ravindra Jadeja,” said Aakash Chopra.

“I had great expectations that Kuldeep Yadav would pick up wickets but then he went wicketless. I expected Mohammed Shami to pick up wickets with the new ball. He also went wicketless at the start but it was not his mistake, he got the edges but they were not holding catches. It was amazing,” he added.
