Owais Shah, the former England cricketer made a huge statement on Ben Stokes’ brigade and said that the team went overboard with the success in the 1st Test match. Owais Shah lauded the way India bounced back in the Test series as winning the series by 1-0 down to 4-1 doesn’t happen to often in the modern cricket.

England will have to perhaps alter their approach if they want to win against big teams as the ‘Bazball’ wasn’t that effective in testing conditions of India. We should not forget that the tracks in India vs England Test series were quite even apart from the Hyderabad surface which was a rank turner.

We were very happy when England won the Test match- Owais Shah

Owais Shah was having an interaction with Colors Cineplex. Owais Shah pointed out that a lot of experts didn’t give England a chance when they had come to India for the Test series. Owais Shah stated that it was a very famous 1st Test victory for the Britishers. Owais concluded by saying that Bazball can be successful in only certain moments in Test cricket.

“We were very happy when England came to India and won the first Test match because before we came, a lot of people said that it was very difficult to beat India in India. It was a very famous victory and Ben Stokes said that it was his biggest victory,” said Owais Shah.

“However, the way India came back in the series, although England had only success with Bazball before this, they will have to learn that they can use Bazball in certain moments in Test cricket, but there are moments when you need to play old-fashioned cricket,” he added.

Unstoppable India

The Ajit Agarkar led selection panel would be delighted to see the rise of Yashasvi Jaiswal who know looks all set to be India’s permanent opener for the upcoming years as he was not only fearless but also played waiting game. The another positive for India was the form  of Sarfaraz Khan who silenced all the critics by smashing 3 half centuries

India though were without the services of the star batter Virat Kohli (*on a leave) and Mohammed Shami (*ankle injury ruled him out) but still the side didn’t succumb to pressure. Skipper Rohit Sharma would be aware of the fact that they can’t boast about this series win as they have a steep road ahead of them to win ICC WTC 2023-25 championship.
