After achieving a spectacular win in the 2nd ODI of match of the ongoing ODI series against Australia, captain KL Rahul answered some long-standing questions during the chat with India Today and also said that now he does not need to say anything, The runs have given the answer. KL Rahul has made an exceptional comeback and now his performances are talking on his behalf.

Since scoring a century in his comeback game against Pakistan in the Asia Cup, KL Rahul has proved himself on many occasions, which is why in the absence of Rohit Sharma, he has been given a century in the three-match ODI series against Australia. KL Rahul has been selected as captain in two matches. By playing a half-century in the first match of this series, Rahul has once again shown why everyone has faith in him.

KL Rahul said that those who were worried about my fitness, I have answered their questions by playing all the Super 4 matches of the Asia Cup and I hope that I will perform in the same manner in this Australia series and the upcoming World Cup.

“They keep giving me more responsibilities, which shows that they believe and trust in my abilities. It gives me a lot of confidence and I also enjoy taking responsibility. It makes life and playing cricket a lot more fun,” said KL Rahul.

“Everyone has seen me playing in the Asia Cup, I played all the games in the Super Fours. I kept 50 overs, batted and scored runs as well, so I think that question is answered for everyone who were concerned about my fitness. Hopefully, I’ll carry on in the same way with a big two months coming up with the World Cup and the Australia series,” he stated.

“I knew when I would return to the side, I’d have to keep wickets and bat. The physical challenges are a lot more compared to when I am only batting. I knew this, so I worked very hard on my fitness. As cricketers, we know the challenges that we will have to face on the field and we try to replicate that at training and practice sessions,” he added.

“They keep giving me more responsibilities, which shows that they believe and trust in my abilities. It gives me a lot of confidence and I also enjoy taking responsibility. It makes life and playing cricket a lot more fun,” he added.
