The dashing wicket-keeper batter Josh Inglis was in the beast mode against India in the 1st T20I match. Josh Inglis smashed a barnstorming knock of 110 runs in 50 balls and struck 11 fours and 8 huge sixes and helped Aussies post a formidable total of 208-3. Inglis was unstoppable against a quality Indian bowling attack.

Aussies may have lost the match by 2 wickets but they showed fighting spirit. Skipper Matthew Wade was marshalling his troops smartly as the surface didn’t have much in it for the bowlers such was the nature of the wicket. Aussies would rue the fact that they couldn’t dictate the terms in the middle overs phase as the duo of Suryakumar Yadav & Ishan Kishan bashed the bowlers all around the park.

The likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal would be unhappy with his performance as he couldn’t convert his start. The batter was foxed by the part-time spinner Matthew Short and was dismissed on 21 runs in 8 balls where he struck 2 fours and 2 sixes. The run out of Ruturaj Gaikwad was quite unfortunate as there was miscommunication.

Josh Inglis is a very decent player- Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his YouTube channel. Aakash Chopra was quite impressed with the outing of Josh Inglis and said that the batter can get an IPL contract as he played extremely well against both spin & fast bowling. Aakash Chopra pointed out that Inglis also plays the short ball well.

“Josh Inglis scored a century, and when I watched him playing, I felt like an IPL contract could be loading because he played extremely well. He plays well against both spin and fast bowling and in such conditions where the ball comes nicely onto the bat, he is a very decent player,” said Aakash Chopra.

“The way he played the Indian spinners, he hit a four off the first ball with a drive, and then inside out over cover and sweeps. He also plays the short ball well. He has a low center of gravity in his stance and he reminded me of Glenn Maxwell in one shot – he reverse-swept a fast bowler for a four,” he added.
