Arshdeep Singh has bowled an over to remember conceding a mere 3 runs in the 20th as India successfully defended 160. Arshdeep Singh had a rather disappointing day at the office other than his last over. Being the senior bowler, he looked pretty average and struggled to hit his line and length, just like he did throughout this series, and will be looking to bounce back in the South African Tour.

Opening the bowling for India, Arshdeep was put right under the pump by Travis Head smashing him for 3 fours off the first three balls, and was removed from the attack after just 1 over. Coming back for his second spell in the 13th over, he struggled to nail his Yorkers and in the process bowled full tosses which were given full treatment by the Aussie batsmen. He did not look in control and offered too many freebies. He might have felt lucky getting McDermott out on a full toss.

Brilliant death bowling display by Arshdeep Singh

With just 10 runs to defend in the final over, Arshdeep was given the ball and he did get his radar right this time around conceding just 3 runs and also picking up the wicket of Matthew Wade. The first ball was a pace-on-bumper which rose a little too high but the umpire stayed his ground and continued the play.

Matthew Wade was visibly frustrated with this call and lost his way completely and Arshdeep did well  after that. He nailed a yorker on the second ball which Wade just managed to block it back to him. Wade tried to go big on a atttempted yorker the next ball but just managed to find Shreyas Iyer at Long on. He backed them up with three good deliveries which the Aussie batsmen could manage to get 3 singles and fell short by 6 runs from the target as India win the series 4-1. Hoping, Arshdeep Singh carries this confidence forward to the South African tour and shows a better performance.
