ICC World Test Championship Final: “Test Cricket Is The Ultimate Format, It Will Mean Everything For Us To Win..”-Rohit Sharma

As ICC WTC (World Test Championship) is approaching, India is all geared up for this final clash against Mighty Australia. Rohit Sharma, the Captain of India stated that the Test Cricket is an Ultimate Format and it will mean everything to them if they win the trophy. On the eve of the format, Rohit Sharma admitted that Test cricket is the most challenging format and winning the title against a strong opponent, will mean a lot to them.

The Summit clash is going to commence from 7th June onwards and will be played for five days till 11th June, followed by a reserve day set on 12th of June. All eyes will be on India, as they advance against Aussies for the final clash. India last won an ICC trophy in 2013, Virat Kohli and co. qualified for the ICC WTC Finals in 2021 but lost against New Zealand, by 8 wickets.

“I Want To Take This Indian Team Forward And Win 1-2 ICC Titles..” – Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is eager to win the ICC title, he wants to take the Indian team forward and win ICC trophies.  Rohit Sharma said in the pre-match press conference.

“Test Cricket is the ultimate format, the most challenging format and it will mean everything for us to win it, I want to take this Indian team forward and win 1-2 ICC titles,”  Sharma said.

Rohit Sharma Gave Message To The Indian Team For Finals

India secured their position in the finals by winning against the Mighty Aussies in the Border-Gavaskar trophy, by an unassailable lead of 2-1. When Rohit Sharma was asked about the team combination he said that all the 15 members need to adapt and adjust themselves to the weather conditions.

“Pitch and Conditions keep changing. The message for all the boys is that they should be ready. We will see tomorrow and will decide who will play,” said Rohit Sharma.

Australian Captain Pat Cummins has confirmed that quick Scott Boland will play, and India skipper Rohit Sharma said they will decide tomorrow who will play.

Rohit also talks about the persistent hard work and dedication that was shown by the Indian squad which has helped them reach the finals, he stated:

“Overall, if you look at the consistent cricket that we played, we displayed good cricket all around, it’s a very tough tournament. We’ve got to play consistent cricket throughout a couple of years to get here. You need all the departments to do well for you. And I thought our strength has been all three departments,” said Rohit Sharma.
