Sanju Samson with an average of 56 runs per game over 13 games, the captain of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) has helped his team advance to the postseason. Rajasthan Royals have banked their captain to perform under pressure and he has done whenever the situation has asked him to deliver.

Sanju Samson has scored 504 runs and is currently 6th in the Orange cap list in this current season of the Indian Premier League. His side Rajasthan Royals is one of the favorites to win the title this season as they have a good balanced bowling attack and a very attacking batting line up.

Beginning with the forthcoming T20 World Cup, Former Indian batter Gautam Gambhir wants wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson to win games for the Indian team. Samson and Rishabh Pant were selected as the team’s wicketkeepers in the 15-man roster due to Sanju Samson’s outstanding performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Gautam Gambhir slams Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson needs to use his entire lineage to demonstrate his abilities to everyone, in Gambhir’s opinion, since he has ample experience.

“Now that you’ve gotten picked in the World Cup team, you have that opportunity-the kind that you need to make sure you start winning games for India if you get the chance. You have that experience of playing international cricket. You are not a newbie that you will wait any longer,” said Gautam Gambhir.

“You have tasted international cricket and you’ve done well in the IPL, and now you have the chance to play the World Cup. So, hopefully, Sanju shows the world what he is capable of at this stage. International cricket, that too in a stage like the World Cup, when you flourish, the whole world watches and takes note,” Gambhir added on Sportskeeda.

Sanju Samson joined the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team in 2012, although Gambhir remembered that he never appeared in a game for them. Additionally, he thought Samson would be able to do well at the next T20 World Cup.

“Just the quality of a player. I don’t need to see much. Five minutes are enough to figure out what kind of a player he is. Mentally, you always grow, and skill-wise as well. Otherwise, if you get stagnant, you won’t be able to survive for too long. The good thing is be it fitness, power-hitting, keeping or captaincy… he has not put a foot wrong,” he stated.

“Through captaincy, you start accessing, judging better, reading better. That is when you also become a better batter. I hope Samson’s captaincy reflects on his batting at the T20 World Cup if he gets a chance,” he further added.

Sanju Samson is an exceptional talent but he is yet to prove himself in the Internal stage with team India. He has been many chances by the board and now its time he steps up and does well for the country at a big stage.
