Virat Kohli and Will Jacks century partnership helped the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to register an easy and yet crucial win against Gujarat Titans (GT) in which Virat scored 70 runs and Will Jacks scored his maiden IPL century.
Bengaluru needs to win every match so that they can be alive for the playoffs. Before this match, everyone was criticizing Virat for his slow batting as he scored 51 runs against Hyderabad in 43 balls somehow fans and experts didn’t expect such innings from Virat but he proved wrong within the next match against Gujarat Titans.
Aakash Chopra praises Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma
Former Indian player now turned commentator and analyst Akash Chopra lauds Virat and Rohit Sharma. Since Virat is in good form he scored 500 runs till now and has been crowned with an orange cap on his head while Rohit has scored 311 runs including one century. They both are senior players of the team and need to take some responsibility. The T20 World Cup is just one month away and all squads need to be declared by May 1. Indian team is yet to declare their squad and many speculations are going on whom to select and whom to exclude.
Aakash Chopra feels that Virat and Rohit are beyond the numbers because they bring a kind of energy to the team which boosts the morals of other players. Numbers are not that important for these players as they are one step ahead of this and know what kind of capability they have and have the ability to score big runs just like in the past used to do. Akash says:
“We got to see Kohli’s Virat avatar. He played both spin and fast bowling very well. He is trying to dominate spin this year and also hitting lofted shots extremely well in the powerplay,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
“If we talk about players like Virat and Rohit Sharma, these players are slightly beyond numbers,” he said.
In this T20 World Cup, both of them have a chance to showcase their original form and win the World Cup for India. These two players have more responsibility than others being senior most yet explosive batters.
