ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 New Zealand had come with big expectations but ended like Great Cry and Little Wool or Much Cry and Little Wool. New Zealand has performed well over the years but this time luck and destiny weren’t with them and so they got eliminated from the World Cup.
Bowlers held their nerves in every match but failed to convert it into a win. Veteran bowlers like Tim Southee, and Trent Boult had a great time with the ball and this pair has introduced some incredible moments with each other and has made a great contribution to New Zealand in ICC tournaments.
Trent Boult speaks about his last dance in T20 World Cup
New Zealand’s left-arm ace pacer Trent Boult has been an important part of New Zealand over the years. Trent Boult is known for his Yorkers and grabbing wickets in first overs his action is very unique and being a left-arm pacer batsmen do get trapped in his web, in ICC events he has shown his class which makes him the world’s greatest bowler. Trent Boult plays all 3 formats and workload management for any player is very important so his pedigree helps New Zealand to perform well over the years. Trent Boult now announces his retirement from T20 World Cup so can we assume that Trent Boult also announced his retirement from short format? While New Zealand and Uganda post-match presentation Trent Boult said:
“Speaking on behalf of myself, this will be my last T20 World Cup. I look at the partnership with Tim with very fond memories. We bowled a lot of overs together. I know the partnership very well, and he’s a very good friend on and off the ground. It was nice to wind back the clock a little bit and see a bit of swing bowling at the top. Some great memories, and hopefully a couple more still to come.”
Let’s hope that Trent Boult won’t retire early and will continue to play for the country for many years and keep performing the same.
