ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 India held their nerves and won the match by 7 runs, a rollercoaster match where India almost surrendered in front of South Africa but the tactics and strategies of Rohit Sharma made them World Champions.

The final 4 overs were held with too much pressure but bowlers remained calm and successfully defended the target. India won the T20 World Cup after 17 years and finished the drought after 11 years.

Hardik Pandya successfully defended 16 runs in the last over and most important was David Miller’s wicket which turned out to be the highlight of the match the catch taken by Surya Kumar Yadav will be remembered for ages and also Kagiso Rabada lost his wicket in the same over. Hardik was brought first in 17th over there he dismissed Henrich Klassen and the match shifted towards India and made impossible things possible. India won the T20 World Cup and emotions were speechless. While speaking Hardik Pandya said:

“It’s very emotional, something was not clicking, but this was something the whole nation wanted. Special for me after six months, I haven’t spoken a word, things have been unfair, but I knew there’d be a time I could shine. An opportunity like this makes it all the more special,” said Hardik Pandya.

“We always believed, stayed calm, let the pressure come to them. Last over, I knew I had to execute my plans. All of a sudden my run-up speed increases. I have been in this situation, I enjoy the pressure situation.”

Hardik Pandya was booed into the stadium during IPL and never supported him when he was appointed as Mumbai Indians skipper. But now the same fans are cheering for him who came as a savior and made India champions. He was the deputy of Rohit Sharma in this World Cup and he did his job perfectly. His performance with bat and bowl is appreciated. He scored 144 runs with the bat while bowling he scalped 11 wickets and in the final, he produced match winning spell of 3/20. This shows why Hardik Pandya is the most important player for India and being an all-rounder no one can replace him.
