India will kickstart their campaign on June 5 against Ireland on June 1 India played their only warm-up match against Bangladesh and registered an easy win of 60 runs. After this match many speculations and reports have suggested that India is prepared well but some areas might hurt them like lack of all-rounders and part-timers.

Irfan Pathan is concerned about Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav

India is gearing up for their first encounter and many predictions have started about who will open with Rohit Sharma whether it’s Virat Kohli or Yashasvi Jaiswal whether there will be three spinners or three seamers all such questions will be answered on June 5. India has been a very consistent team over the years but has failed to perform in the knockout stages though in the last 4 years, they have been runners-up three times in the ICC finals, last year they were runners-up in World Cup 2023 after a tragic loss in the final. Now before starting their campaign in the T20 World Cup, many speculations were made by experts.

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has raised his concern over Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Surya Kumar Yadav, these top-order players have done mastery in batting and all have seen this but the main question arises that they don’t bowl much, or rather they avoid doing so. Rohit and Virat had bowled recently in World Cup 2023 against Netherlands and picked a wicket. Since many batters bowl one over or max two overs which adds an impact to the team. Just considering 5 triumph bowlers won’t give you the same performance sometimes the situations don’t go with them and some other bowler grabs that chance, other teams have batters who bowl 1-2 overs to add some impact to the team. Irfan Pathan said:

“With the selected team, there can be two combinations. In one combination, you can play with six bowlers, including Axar Patel, to deepen the batting lineup. In the other combination, you can play with four front-line bowlers and expect Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya to bowl. Another option for Team India is a young player who bowls in the nets but hasn’t bowled in matches, Yashasvi Jaiswal. Shivam Dube also mentioned during the IPL that he has been regularly bowling in the nets, preparing to bowl one or two overs in the World Cup,” Irfan Pathan said on Star Sports.

“If Hardik can give you the option of bowling three to four overs, this problem will be largely solved. Our other batsmen, like Rohit, Virat, or Suryakumar Yadav, can’t bowl, which makes us somewhat handicapped. Ideally, if any of these players could bowl, it would greatly benefit the team. We talk about Australia, but even England has many all-rounders among their top seven players, including Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone, and Will Jacks. It’s always better to have more bowling options, and yes, in this scenario, we are handicapped,” Irfan Pathan added.

As we have seen some tracks have not been up to the mark like the New York pitch which is built newly and so; its surface is sandy and out-field is very slow so many experts have raised a question regarding its drop-in.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Surya Kumar Yadav should bowl in practice sessions then only the saga of bowlers will be solved or else just believing your triumph bowlers won’t be enough to win games.
