Journey till now: Netherlands and Nepal

The Netherlands have lost a couple of matches in recent days a T20i tri-series which was held in the Netherlands they were unable to hold their nerves and lost matches consecutively though their bowling department showed some positivity but need to improve more in batting. The Netherlands is in Group D and they will face Bangladesh, South Africa, and Sri Lanka so the challenges won’t be easy for them, the Netherlands has played ODI World Cup 2023 and they thrashed South Africa and they will face them once again so that game will also worth watching. The Netherlands recently lost matches due to their batting itself so skipper Scott Edwards needs to find the proper combinations so that it will be easy for them to execute it. Recently they had a warmup match against Sri Lanka in which they dethroned them.

Nepal had their last game in April 2024 after that they didn’t play any games since both teams will be facing for the first time in any ICC tournaments and will look to give their best. Nepal has registered some historic records but against those teams who don’t play cricket much, they will have a Dutch challenge which won’t be easy for them as they have an upper hand against Nepal. Nepal has a good range of players playing any ICC tournament for the first time so they should plan their strategies wisely one game will decide their potential in the tournament. Dipendra Singh Airee is the new hero of Nepal who is a player to watch out for.

Head to Head:

Out of 5 matches Netherlands won 3 matches and Nepal won just 2 matches.

Match-ups:

Bas De Leede and Dipendra Singh Airee will be a great match-up as both are the limelight players of their respective teams so the match-up between them will be a treat to watch. Skipper Scott Edwards and Kamal Airee will also a match-up which the audience will like to see.

Pitch Report:

The average batting score in 12 MLC games played at the venue last year was 167, while teams batting first have won 8 out of 12 games. The pitch generally has enough for the batsmen to be expressive in their stroke play. The new ball does tend to swerve around a bit under lights as well. Approaching its second season, the average first innings scores are expected to spike as the surface hardens up. The rain in the lead-up to the games shouldn’t play a role in determining the nature of the wicket as subsequent hot temperatures are poised to suck up any prevalent moisture.
