England needs to gear up as they have a long distance to cover if they need to qualify for Super8. England had a great time in 2022 and so they were crowned as Champions somehow they should play aggressively and strong mind then only they can qualify and can’t say defend their title also. Currently, England is struggling more in their bowling department bowlers are not up to the mark which makes them more weaker team. Bowlers are the match-winners and if they are unable to contribute then it’s pathetic to predict the result. Former England skipper Michael Atherton backs England though they found themselves in trouble. In a podcast, Michael Atherton says:

“You look at the table, England’s net run rate is significantly worse than Scotland’s isn’t it? I think it is still foolish to completely write off England and I think the doom and gloom is not just on the back of the defeat against Australia and the washout against Scotland, it is the hangover from the 50-over tournament in India where everything went wrong for England”.

England’s skipper added by saying:

“The situation will unfold during the game. First of all, we’ve got no chance unless we win so we’ve fully focused on trying to win the game and hopefully if we can do that maybe we’ll get in a position where we can affect the net run-rate.”

England’s next two matches are against Oman and Namibia so they should win the matches by big margins then only the qualification scenario would be easy for the defending champions.
