India will commence their campaign on June 5 before they will play a warm-up match against Bangladesh. India will look to break their jinx of drought of ICC trophies. Michael Clarke predicts India are favorites to win
Former Aussie skipper and World Cup champion Michael Clarke clarifies that India is the favorite to win the T20 World Cup as they have the form of IPL and being the favorites they will surely take revenge if or when Australia faces them. Virat Kohli is in red-hot form and other players too have picked the form. Jasprit Bumrah will lead the bowling attack and he too is in great form. Spin wizards Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal are making a comeback in Men in Blue after a long time so this pair may trouble other batters to score runs. Michael Clarke says:
“I think India have taken a risk with the squad they have picked – heavily reliant on spin, very different from Australia. But in the conditions that I have played in the Caribbean, I think how you play spin is going to be a huge part of whether you succeed or not. India is the biggest threat for me with regards to who is going to win the World Cup.”
“If you look at the favorites for the World Cup it’s got to be India just because of the amount of cricket they have played, their preparation has been outstanding. Conditions are different to India but there are a lot of similarities so the players would be used to that,” the former Australian captain said.
Indian team will definitely give their level best to win this trophy at any cost.
