ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 India crowned as champions after 11 years and won a thriller against South Africa with 7 runs. India was in a fuss after Henrich Klaseen smashed boundaries in Axar’s over. But in death overs, India fought like a champion and made impossible things possible.
Skipper Rohit Sharma deserves that World Cup and he pulled off a heist. Hardik Pandya was the hero of the match and Surya Kumar Yadav was the line between India and South Africa the catch taken by him will be remembered for ages.
Wasim Jaffer hails Hardik Pandya
India won the T20 World Cup by 7 runs and they pulled off a heist when they found themselves in trouble. Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh did their job but when the last over Hardik Pandya came to bowl South Africa needed 16 in 6 balls and on the very first ball Surya Kumar Yadav grabbed that catch by balancing himself on the long-off of David Miller was the turning point of the match and so it made India the champions. Hardik Pandya successfully defended 16 runs picking 2 wickets and made India lift the trophy. After the match, many fans were lauding and praising Hardik Pandya who was bullied 2 months ago for seeking the responsibility of Mumbai Indians after removing Rohit Sharma as captain. Those 2 months Hardik Pandya was living like hell, but now the same fans are happy and cheering him to write the winning script. Former Indian batter Wasim Jaffer also praised Hardik Pandya for his heroic performance in the World Cup final and the defending the runs successfully. Wasim Jaffer said:
“Would like to specially mention Hardik because he was under pressure coming into the T20 World Cup. But hats off to him for the way he stepped up with both bat and ball and delivered. We all know what kind of pressure he was under but he put his hand up and performed exceedingly well.”
“Suryakumar Yadav’s catch was a game-changing moment according to me. If that catch wouldn’t have happened and if it would have gone for a six, 10 runs from four (five) balls would have been an easy job for Miller.”
Further, Wasim Jaffer spoke about Jasprit Bumrah too he even praised him too:
“Bumrah being Bumrah bowled incredibly well and rightly deserves to win the Player of the Tournament award. The way he bowled throughout the tournament and in the final, hats off to him.”
