ICC Men’s T20 2024 England got knocked out of the World Cup after a crushing defeat against India with 58 runs. England couldn’t make a comeback as India’s finest bowling unit kept them out of the game and didn’t give a single chance to score runs. Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav were the heroes of the match and hence they proved why India produced a strong bowling unit in this World Cup.

England couldn’t hold their nerves and so they lost the match earlier rain interrupted the match so the pitch got dry and the bowlers had a good chance to score runs though it was difficult but batting first surely helped India and scored 171 compared to the second innings cracks on a pitch made the ball to turn even more so Indian spinners had an opportunity to grab wickets quickly so they did. Jos Buttler won the toss and opted to bowl first which felt the decision was wrong and so they faced loss. So, former England skipper Michael Vaughan slammed England for the wrong decision and so they lost the match. Michael Vaughan said:

“I believe that England’s issues with these conditions run a bit deeper than just the coach and captain. They made some mistakes. It was a curious decision to bowl at the toss. I am sure the dodgy weather played its part but on a dry pitch like that against India’s spinners, surely you bat first. Perhaps England were stuck in their ways because they chased so well against India in Adelaide two years ago.”

“But there are three key issues in these conditions for England. First, they are not a great fielding team and do not have enough athletes. They had a couple of good moments but are way below South Africa’s level. With the bat, they lack the power game on slower pitches, and with the ball, they are a bit predictable. It’s a bit unfair to compare them to Jasprit Bumrah, the best in the world, but how many of our seamers have slower balls that completely deceive the batsman?”

England won their second title in 2022 under Jos Buttler against Pakistan. In this tournament too they had a nightmare could getting knocked out very early but they made a strong comeback and so got qualified for Super 8 and then for Semis.
