Ravi Bishnoi, Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) premier spinner is also in the race for India’s T20 WC 2024 squad as there is cut-throat competition for spots this time. Ravi Bishnoi played Asia Cup 2022 and impressed everyone with his control and line & length which was quite impeccable.

Ravi Bishnoi though will be well aware of the fact that he needs wickets under his belt to make a case for himself in the national cricket team. Already, the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel & the veteran Ravichandran Ashwin are fighting for spots. It will be interesting to see what decision will the Ajit Agarkar led selection panel take for India.

My focus is on giving best for LSG- Ravi Bishnoi

Ravi Bishnoi was seen interacting with Times of India and said that he aspires to play T20 WC 2024 squad for India. Ravi Bishnoi though pointed out that he always approaches LSG’s skipper KL Rahul for help and stated that KL Rahul backs him a lot. Ravi Bishnoi earlier played under the leadership of KL Rahul in Punjab Kings (PBKS) as well and Bishnoi said that he communicates very freely to KL Rahul.

“Who would not like to be a part of the World Cup squad? That’s my dream and definitely a good show in the IPL can help. But first thing first, focus is on giving my best for LSG. Let’s see how it goes here. At LSG, it’s KL bhai whom I always approach for suggestions. Be it during, before or after the IPL, I always reach out to him for help,” said Ravi Bishnoi

“KL Rahul backs me a lot and gives me the freedom to express myself. He often tells me that with 50 odd IPL games under my belt I am a senior player now and should take my own calls. If you feel that something has to be done a certain way, do it!, he says. I made my IPL debut for Punjab under him and have never played under any other captain in the league. This adds to the ease of communicating things freely to him,” he added.

LSG a team to beat

LSG have roped in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 winning coach Justin Langer who knows how to formulate strategies and most importantly how to bring the best out of the players. Langer along with skipper KL Rahul will have to make sure that the team doesn’t go overboard and gets complacent as they have been quite successful in their first 2 editions of IPL

LSG would be banking on the vice captain Nicholas Pooran who is in the form of his life. Pooran along with Krunal Pandya will have to do the bulk of scoring in the middle overs against the spinners which won’t be easy. LSG will have to make a tough choice as both Kyle Mayers & Quinton de Kock are competing for one opening slot.
