India is currently ranked No.1  ODI team despite losing the 3rd ODI. Rohit Sharma & Co would be keen on capitalizing on their good form going into the World Cup on their home soil. The host nation has gone on to win the World Cup in the previous 3 editions, and therefore skipper Rohit Sharma would be eager to capitalize on the trend.

India’s 66-run defeat may have raised a lot of eyebrows against the Aussies, but we should not forget that India had sealed the ODI series without the presence of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma & Hardik Pandya which is quite a good attainment for the Men in Blue.

Head coach Rahul Dravid would be pumped up as the batting unit clicked. Even the swashbuckling batter Suryakumar Yadav played a staggering knock in the 2nd ODI match. The bowling unit performed exceedingly well and the veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin too showed a lot of promise. It won’t be wrong to say that Ashwin can replace the injured Axar Patel for ODI WC 2023.

It’s pretty good. Honestly, it doesn’t really matter what kind of ranking you go in with, what sort of performances you have had in the past – Rohit Sharma

The skipper Rohit Sharma added that he was not worried about the rankings and that they have bigger things to worry about as the sport is played in the present. Rohit Sharma pointed out that his side is focused on winning the ODI WC 2023 rather than these ODI rankings milestones.

“So, we’ve got to play very good cricket on the present day. I don’t think anyone will be worried about the rankings at this point because we have bigger things to worry about,”. You would want to play good cricket, and you want to achieve certain things on the field,” said Rohit Sharma.
