Australian cricket team’s destructive left handed batter Travis Head can be seen missing from the Australian combination. Travis Head has a fractured hand and the CA is quite hopeful that he would be available for selection for some part of the tournament and according to reports, it is believed that he is progressing pretty well.

Australia have bounced back strongly after losing the opening 2 matches in the ODI WC 2023 and questions were raised about the team’s performance  and dynamics. Alll eyes would be on the dynamic opening batter David Warner who was in a beast mode against Pakistan and it looked as if the old David Warner was back into the setup.

Australia would be pumped up after defeating the Asian giant Pakistan as they almost snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Australia may have won the match by 62 runs but it was a matter of one 30-40 odd partnership and the things would have been different for the 5 time ODI WC champions.

Travis Head has been fantastic at the top for us and that’s where he will slot in- George Bailey

George Bailey was having an interaction with cricket.com.au. George Bailey was quite impressed with the recovery process of Travis Head as his injury was quite serious and said that his bone has healed. George Bailey made it clear that Travis Head won’t be risked back earlier in the tournament as he would be under observation.

“It can be a six to eight-week injury. He’s ticked all the boxes in terms of the four-week scan and the bone has healed, so that’s all going well, and he’s progressed really well through the week,” said George Bailey.

“But clearly the whole point of having him (in the squad) and carrying him to this point is not to then risk it by bringing him back early. Clearly (Head) comes in at the top. He’s been fantastic there for us and that’s where he’ll slot in,” he added.
