Rachin Ravindra stole the limelight during the opening clash of the ODI WC between England vs New Zealand. Rachin Ravindra played a breathtaking knock of 123 runs in 96 balls and struck 11 fours and 5 huge sixes. The dynamic left-handed batter was playing with the minds of the opposition bowler.

The stylish left-handed batter Devon Conway was in a completely different zone during the steep run chase of 283 runs. Devon Conway scored 152 runs in 121 balls and struck 19 fours and 3 sixes. The duo of Rachin Ravindra & Devon Conway annihilated England’s bowlers and whacked them all around the park.

Rachin Ravindran was absolutely brilliant- Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his You Tube channel. Aakash Chopra said that hardly New Zealand get the recognition but still they come through. Aakash Chopra was impressed with the way Rachin Ravindra fared against the lethal pacer Mark Wood who not only has got the express pace but good control over his line & length as smashing him was quite audacious.

“No one hardly rates New Zealand. They hardly play matches in between the two World Cup editions, no one plays big series against them, but they still come through,” said Aakash Chopra.

“I was a bit skeptical around how Rachin Ravindra would fare against Mark Wood’s pace, but he was absolutely sensational. He played with maturity, he played under his eyes, close to his body, and he was absolutely brilliant,” he added.

Rachin Ravindra an Asset

Ravindra couldn’t have asked for a better start to his World Cup career. The dynamic all-rounder not only struck a barnstorming ton but also took one key wicket of  Harry Brook which changed the complexion of the match. The all-rounder can be a star in the making as he has got wide range of shots.

New Zealand cricket (NZC) and management’s decision to send Ravindra ahead of Daryl Mitchell did wonders for the team. Daryl Mitchell could have taken the team out from the early departure but Ravindra’s attacking gameplan was quite a treat to watch for the fans & viewers.
