Pakistan cricket team would be dejected after losing their two warm up matches. The management’s decision to rest Mohammad Rizwan against Australia was highly questionable. Mohammad Rizwan has been an integral part of the side for quite some time now.
Pakistani fans would be happy to see Babar Azam score 90 runs against Australia. The mighty Pakistani cricket team showed that they can be ruthless on their given day. The middle order though looks a bit fragile as it is too much dependent on the likes of Babar Azam & Mohammad Rizwan which is not a good sign.
Mohammad Rizwan will control the game in the middle overs- Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his You Tube channel. Aakash Chopra stated that Mohammad Rizwan is an effective player and plays spin very well. Aakash Chopra pointed out that Pakistan would be a team to beat in the ODI WC 2023. Aakash Chopra said that Mohammad Rizwan will play a huge role in the ODI WC 2023.
“Mohammad Rizwan is an interesting one. He is a very effective player and plays spin very well. His best comes in the powerplay when he opens in T20s. But Pakistan need a good batter at No. 4 [in ODIs],” said Aakash Chopra.
“I think Pakistan will be competitive in the World Cup and Rizwan could have a big role to play in it. He will control the game in the middle overs and I feel he will have a good World Cup,” the 46-year-old opined.
Pakistan an unpredictable unit
The form of Fakhar Zaman is a concern for the 1992 World Cup champions. Fakhar Zaman needs to play his natural attacking brand of game rather than getting into the shell. There is added pressure on Imam-ul-Haq due to Fakhar’s defensive style of cricket.
It would be interesting to see whether the experienced campaigner Hasan Ali gets a game against the Dutch on 06th October. Hasan Ali may be at the receiving end but we should not forget that he was the player of the tournament for 2017 Champions Trophy as his experience would be invaluable in the marquee ODI WC 2023.
