England cricket team will have to play out of their skin to win the ODI WC 2023 as this time all the teams are evenly matched. ECB have been bolstered with the return of Jofra Archer as the pacer is with the team as a traveling reserve. Jofra Archer has had a recurring elbow problem which ruled him out of most of English summer.
England will have to manage the workload of the lethal speedster Mark Wood who not only bowls wicket to wicket but has got some serious pace that can dismantle the opposition. The likes of Moeen Ali & Liam Livingstone will have to play the role of 6th bowler and most importantly ECB have named one premier spinner only in the form of Adil Rashid.
Jofra Archer is bowling well and got a lot of rhythm- Nasser Hussain
Nasser Hussain was having an interaction with Mirror Sport. Nasser Hussain stated that Jofra Archer will have to bowl in the nets as the pacer is a traveling reserve and said that Jofra Archer can be a dangerous asset to have who knows the Indian conditions quite well.
“Jofra, from what I’ve heard, is bowling well and got a lot of rhythm. He hasn’t played much match cricket, which would be a concern. Obviously in a World Cup. I don’t know where he could get any kind of match cricket. He’ll just have to bowl in the nets,” said Nasser Hussain.
“But it’s a pretty good reserve to have. He’s someone that knows India very well and knows those grounds. I think it (including him) is the right thing to do by Jofra. After everything he’s been through, to have him around and to give him something to play for is absolutely the right thing,” he added.
England’s fiery fast bowling unit
The left arm pacers Reece Topley & David Willey can create a havoc with their angle and impeccable line & length. David Willey can also smash lusty blows at the back end of the innings and can be a great asset to have in the team.
We should not forget that England have got a star all-rounder present in the form of Ben Stokes as his experience would be invaluable in the marquee tourney. England undoubtedly have a deadly bowling unit who can make the ball work even on a flat deck that says a lot about their team’s dynamics.
