India’s left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav once again created a havoc with his brilliant bowling. Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets and bamboozled Jos Buttler by crashing his stumps which was the highlight of his spell. Kuldeep Yadav is proving to be a wicket-taking option and has developed a lot of variations which surprises the opponent.

We must give credit to skipper Rohit Sharma as the skipper has used Kuldeep Yadav as his secret weapon and at the same time, Kuldeep has made immense adjustments to his line & length. The spinner is deceiving the batter with the flight and sometimes by bowling a quicker of length time which amazed everyone.

It looks unlikely that the star veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin would get a game any time soon as the duo of Jadeja & Kuldeep have been able to exert pressure on the batters. Ravindra Jadeja is proving to be the silent assassin as the shrewd spinner not only completes his overs quickly but has a surprise element and is a complete package.

It was all about bowling the right lengths- Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav was seen in the post-match press conference. Kuldeep Yadav stated that the side was quite confident that they could defend the target of 230 and said that the key was to get wickets in the powerplay overs which they did. Kuldeep Yadav pointed out that he is working on his batting.

“We knew on this surface a target of 230 can be defended. Rohit bhai played a good knock. It was all about getting two wickets in the Powerplay which Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami did. Then they were four down and it became difficult. As a spinner, I just had to maintain that pressure on England,” said Kuldeep Yadav.

“It feels good to bowl at home. There was spin, but there was also the dew factor. It was all about bowling the right lengths. I did well but more importantly, the team won and that gives me joy,” he stated.

“I am working hard on my batting. [If] I contribute 10-15 runs, it helps the team. The last 25-odd run partnership helped us to reach a good target of 230. I felt that we can defend it. It’s not like I’m only batting in matches. I’m also working on my batting in practice,” he added.
