Harry Brook hasn’t been able to announce his arrival in the ODI format, unlike the Test arena. Harry Brook had got the start against New Zealand in the 1st ODI but got out on 25 runs in 41 balls. Perhaps, Brook should bat in the middle order rather than exposing him against the fast bowlers.

England Cricket Board (ECB) astonishingly left out Harry Brook from the provisional squad of ODI WC 2023. The swashbuckling right-handed batter had come into English’s setup as the replacement of former skipper Eoin Morgan. Harry Brook has got a wide range of shots and should stick to his instincts rather than getting into the shell.

Harry Brook was finding it extremely difficult to reach double digits in IPL 2023- Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his You Tube channel and was quite flabbergasted to see Harry Brook not in England’s ODI squad. Aakash Chopra questioned that Harry Brook’s IPL performance was quite awful and may have played a part in his non-selection for ODI WC 2023.

“Harry Brook’s name is not there although there were a lot of speculations that he will eventually make it as he is too good a player to miss out. He is an amazing player, hits a lot of sixes, but is not part of this squad. Does it have anything to do with his struggle in the IPL?,” said Aakash Chopra.

“He scored a century in Kolkata but other than that, he was finding it extremely difficult to reach double digits as well. He batted up the order at times and down the order on other occasions but his bat didn’t fire properly. So could that be the reason? We don’t know,” he added.

Michael Vaughan believed that Brook would make it to ODI WC squad- Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra was quite optimistic that Brook would make it to the main ODI WC squad and said that the likes of Michael Vaughan and Kevin Pietersen pointed out that Brook would be a part of the ODI defense for the England commencing from 5th October 2023.

“I felt it was the 16th August story that was there on the ICC website but this is the latest, which has the announcement of the other squads as well. So Harry Brook is missing out,” said Aakash Chopra.

“The provisional squad can be changed till the 28th of September. So he might still reach there. Michael Vaughan believed he would reach there. I think Kevin Pietersen also said that he will definitely be there but Harry Brook at this point in time is missing out,” he added.
