England cricket team would be shell-shocked as the defending champions are on the brink of missing out on direct qualification for ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Dawid Malan who has had a forgettable tournament would be keen to up the ante. Dawid Malan hasn’t got the support from Jonny Bairstow which has hurt the team massively.

The form of the flamboyant all-rounder Ben Stokes was a huge difference in the end as astonishingly Stokes looked clueless against both pace & spin. Perhaps, he wasn’t fit 100%  as the all-rounder didn’t bowl.  Ben Stokes perhaps won’t play ODI cricket after this tournament.

Skipper Jos Buttler & head coach Matt Mott will have to work out some magic if England wants to qualify for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. England are languishing at 10th place on the points table and will have to win the remaining all the 3 matches to be in the top 8 of the rankings which is quite a steep task as England’s NRR is quite terrible.

I am just finding ways of getting out- Dawid Malan

Dawid Malan was having an interaction with the media ahead of the Australian clash on 4th November. Dawid Malan was aware of the fact that the last 3 matches of the tournament are extremely important for the Britishers if they want to qualify for the ICC Champions Trophy which is in Pakistan. Dawid Malan wasn’t quite sure that what was wrong has happened to his gameplan and couldn’t put a finger on it.

“People’s jobs are being scrutinized and players’ careers are being scrutinize. We have a hell of a lot to play for in the last three. The last thing you want – if the decision gets made to move on from players – is that we haven’t done well enough to give other players the opportunity in future to play in big tournaments. That’s what you play the game for: you want to be in the Champions Trophy and the World Cup, things like that,” said Dawid Malan.

“I feel like I am playing well, but just finding ways of getting out. We just can’t get anything going with the bat and get a score on the board. I can’t put my finger on it,” he added.
