The craze for the ODI WC 2023 is getting bigger as we approach the first match between England & New Zealand on 5th October 2023. Former lethal pacer Dale Steyn chose his 5 fast bowlers to watch out at ODI WC 2023. Dale Steyn pointed out that Mark Wood can be deadly in the tourney as he has some sheer express pace.

The fast bowlers though would be tested in India as the pitches assist the spinners and at the same time the role of all-rounders would be critical. The likes of Australia & England would consider playing 2 premier spinners as the role of the 6th bowler would be quite pivotal.

Dale Steyn was having an interaction with Star Sports. Dale Steyn astoundingly left out the likes of Mitchell Starc & Jasprit Bumrah from the list of 5 pacers to watch out for. Dale Steyn backed the speedsters Kagiso Rabada & Mohammed Siraj to come good in the marquee championship. Steyn also gave a warning to Rohit Sharma and stated that  Shaheen Afridi would be a threat to him ahead of the high voltage clash between India vs Pakistan on 14th October at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

“Mohammed Siraj swings the ball upfront, knocks over the big batters, key player for India.” said Dale Steyn.

“Kagiso Rabada produces Big bounce, lots of pace, familiar with Indian conditions,” he opined.

“Trent Boult swings the ball upfront for New Zealand, big wicket-taker. I think he is going to be the leading wicket-taker in this World Cup,” he stated.

“Shaheen Afridi, watch out Rohit Sharma for the pacer,” he added

“Mark Wood has extreme pace. I think he’s going to take a lot of wickets for England. His fear factor, his pace alone is going to give him tons of wickets,” he concluded.
