Pakistan national cricket team would be aiming to bounce back strongly in the ODI WC 2023 after losing the match against India & Pakistan. Skipper Babar Azam has come under scrutiny for his below-par performance. Babar Azam has lacked the firepower and the intent required in the high-voltage clash.

All eyes will be on the wicket-keeper & right-handed batter Mohammad Rizwan who has been the biggest positive for the Men in Green. Rizwan along with Iftikhar would be dejected with their performance against Australia. The duo could have pulled off a heist if they had shown some character and patience.

Babar Azam has to come to the party- Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his YouTube channel and said that the skipper Babar Azam has to score runs in the tournament before it’s too late. Aakash Chopra suggested some changes for Pakistan in the ODI against Afghanistan. Aakash Chopra pointed out that Pakistan should think of playing with 3 spinners.

“Babar will have to score runs. Eventually, he has to come to the party because such a big party has been organized, and you are a superstar but haven’t even played the hero’s brother’s role. So you will have to do it,” said Aakash Chopra.

“I feel Shadab (Khan) will play in place of Usama Mir. It’s possible Usama Mir also plays along with Shadab and (Mohammad) Nawaz. Go with three spinners because this pitch will demand you to go with spin. India also played with three spinners here. Ravichandran Ashwin played when the match was played on that pitch,” he stated.

“Afghanistan – rule them out at your peril. I would say bat first if you win the toss. Score 250 runs and then see how enjoyable the match will be. There is a good chance of it being a good match,” he added.
