Aakash Chopra was quite angry with England’s batting lineup who couldn’t put a respectable total on the board against  Sri Lanka in a do-or-die clash. Aakash Chopra said that the batters couldn’t take responsibility despite having a star-studded batting lineup.

England now would be aiming to spoil the party of India on the 29th of October at Lucknow as now the Jos Buttler-led side has got nothing to lose in the championship. Jos Buttler & management would be considering bringing back the all-rounder sensation Sam Curran into the side.

India on the other side would be aiming to seal the Semi-Finals berth. The Rohit Sharma-led side has won 5 matches out of 5 and is the only unbeatable side in the tournament. There are chances that the spin trio of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja & Kuldeep Yadav could be back again after the opening clash against Australia.

156 is not even safe in the IPL in a 20-over game- Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his YouTube channel and said that England’s decision to bat first and play all the all-rounders was a good one but after the opening partnership, the batters couldn’t stitch a partnership. Aakash Chopra said that 156 is not even safe in a 20-over game in IPL at Bengaluru.

“You opted to bat first after winning the toss and played all your all-rounders as well. You should do that because it’s your strength but is it your strength? You played Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes, opted to bat first, a good opening partnership was also being seen but what happened after that?,” said Aakash Chopra.

“First Dawid Malan, Joe Root got run-out, then Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler got caught behind and Liam Livingstone. Ben Stokes did score runs but what are you people doing? England made 156 in total while batting first on the Bengaluru pitch. 156 is not even safe in the IPL in a 20-over game,” he stated.

“Generally, teams score 156 runs in 15 overs with eight wickets in hand. After that, they score 80-90 in the last five overs and 230 is the average total here. Your team scored 156 while batting first in a 50-over game,” he added.
