IB71: No Unnecessary Drama Spy Movie

IB71 is the amusing and intriguing movie of Vidyut Jammwal where he breaks his stereotypical action hero image. The story of IB71 was based on the real-life event during the war of 1971 which gave birth to Bangladesh.

The movie IB71 depicted that wars are not only for those who fight with weapons but it also requires the creative intelligence agent who works to provide the essential information for the protection of the nation.

The talented cast of IB71 keeps their magical acting alive

The film was a well-crafted suspense spy thriller but it is not a perfect movie. The movie fails to keep the inherent excitement in certain parts of the story where the scenes are quite predictable.

If we look over the cast then the magical performance actors like for example Vishal Jethwa Vidyut Jamwal and Anupam Kher are on point. If you are a fan of Vidyut Jamwal action then this movie can disappoint you because you can only see some action in the second half of the film.

The story speaks directly instead of showing any romantic side story

The story is direct without any unnecessary drama. During the East Pakistan civil war, Indian intelligence got the lead on the use of Indian Air space to reach East Pakistan and attack India. The main motive was to cut off India’s mainland from the Northeastern states.

Neither India can ban Pakistani use of their air space because of the Tashkent agreement. The story revolves around the clever approach of Indian intelligence agent Dev to create a situation where they can block the Indian Air space without waging war.

Final verdict

The movie story can have a great caliber if the writer/director Sankalp Reddy could work on suspense keeping side of the story to keep an audience on their feet for the next step. The character of Vishal Jethwa can have a better back story.

The carefully crafted and easily defined story has left no space for loopholes. It has every element of a spy movie but in this era of hyped spy movies, this movie can be left unnoticed, especially for a low budget. Although it is a one-time watch at least.
