BAN vs ZIM: Bangladesh Annihilate The Spirited Zimbabwe In First T20I

At the commencement of the series between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe on Friday, Bangladesh made the match one-sided and started with a win in the 5T20I series match. Bangladesh had a strong will they win this match and they adhered to their words. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first, which proved correct and beneficial for the team.

Zimbabwe was also ready to give a tough fight but the party was spoiled by the Bangla tigers. Bowlers were dominating Zimbabwe batters as they lost 4 wickets within the powerplay, Zimbabwe was in big trouble and further, they lost more 3 wickets and were yet to cross the 50 run mark which felt would they even cross the 50 run mark or will get out under 50? In batting, we saw many loopholes none of the batsmen was able to score runs, and felt like they were playing like amateurs. But Clive Madande and Wellington Masakadza were the pillars of Zimbabwe’s batting. Because of them, Zimbabwe was able to score 124 runs or else it would have just 50-60 runs onboard. From Bangladesh Taskin Ahmed and Mohammed Saifuddin picked 3 wickets each and Mehdi Hasan picked 2 wickets no other bowler was able to scalp wickets. Rain also made spoilsport in between.

Bangladesh dominate powerplay

Bangladesh had won the toss and elected to field first which made their day and were able to pick wickets easily. Zimbabwe had played their last international match long back in 2023 so they were unable to grab the situation and so they lost 4 wickets in powerplay itself. Zimbabwe was up to their mark and was able to score just 36 runs. After the powerplay also Zimbabwe was not able to come out of that situation they lost more 3 than wickets at 41 and found themselves like they would surrender at any time and would get all-out under 50 or 50 itself. Ace Pacer Taskin Ahmed and Mohammed Saifuddin were the heroes of Bangladesh as they scalped 3 wickets each and made the way for Bangladesh. Skipper Sikander Raza got out on a golden duck.

Clive Madande and Wellington Masakadza stabled Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe was collapsing like a pack of cards from one side but Clive Madande and Wellington Masakadza stood tall and played crucial knocks and were inching towards a good total but were able to score just 124 onboard. These innings will surely help Zimbabwe to get stabilized and were hoping to score more but Bangladesh restricted them to score just 124 which is a below-par score. Clive scored 43 runs and Wellington scored 34 runs.

Bangladesh was obstructed by rain

When Bangladesh came to chase the target somehow drizzle started and the match was stopped due to rain, the game was resumed after some time but rain again came as a spoilsport, and after some time again match was halted, but still match resumed quickly and it went smoothly and Bangladesh was able to chase the target within 15.2 overs and were in the driving seat since they won the toss. Batsmen Tanzid Hasan scored the highest 67 runs, skipper Najimul Hossain Shanto scored 21 runs and Towhid Hridoy scored 33 runs. From Zimbabwe, no such bowler was able to wickets only Blessing Muzarabani and Luke Jongwe picked 1 wicket each, Bangladesh won the match by 8 wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the series.
