The mighty Aussies will have their task cut out when they lock horns against Pakistan on 14th December. Pat Cummins can’t afford to take Pakistan lightly as they have a surprise element in them. Pat Cummins will have to lead the bowling attack and use Mitchell Starc in short spells as he is quite effective.

This Test series would test the captaincy of Shan Masood as defeating Australia in their back yard won’t be easy by any means. The Aussies are the current WTC mace holder and have a pretty flawless team with good back up in both batting & bowling department.

Millions of people watch each summer- Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins was having an interaction with AAP and was quite optimistic that another 20 nations would play the sport of Test cricket. Pat Cummins pointed out that Australia won’t rest any of the key players unless someone is injured for the home summer which consists of Test series against Pakistan & West Indies.

“I don’t know what to think, it’s disappointing to hear. It’s weird, because in Australia Tests are so strong. The crowds are great, millions of people watch each summer. It’s really well supported,” said Pat Cummins.

“But it does feel like there’s probably less countries than five or 10 years ago that are really putting all their resources into international cricket. I don’t know the answer, but as a Test cricket lover, I hope there are 20 Test teams in another 10 years, not less,” he stated.

“You are always dealing with something as a bowler. When your hamstring starts to feel then you feel a pain somewhere else, then you wake up the next day and it’s moved somewhere else. While over the last couple of years, we might have been rested from the odd game, the bulk of work we’ve been able to do is because of those small gaps. If we are fully fit we won’t be resting,” he added.
