ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Australia started their campaign with a victory over Oman by 39 runs. Oman who were an inch close to winning in their last match against Namibia lost in super over and today they lost against mighty Australia. Australia had lost the warm-up match against host West Indies. But they are Australia they know the importance of ICC events so they are the champion team in World Cricket.
Toss proved the wrong decision
Oman had won the toss and opted to bowl first which felt they made the wrong decision despite the game being under lights the pitch was not that dry they opted to bat also but they chose to field first so they lost the match.
Warner Stoinis stood for Australia
Australia was invited to bat first and felt it was not the day for them, fire gun Travis Head lost his wicket very early scoring just 12 runs. Later interim captain Mitchell Marsh came to bat Warner and Marsh were having a good partnership later Marsh also lost his wicket, Glean Maxwell’s leaning patch continued as he also lost his wicket on a golden duck and Australia found themselves in trouble but David Warner and Marcus Stoinis stood and played crucial knocks and had a century partnership between scored half-centuries and so they registered 164 runs onboard.
Decent bowling by Oman
Oman had won the toss and opted to bowl first which turned out to be a failure. Every bowler contributed well but couldn’t bowl an economical spell Mehran Khan only picked 2 wickets rest no bowler could pick the wicket except Bilal Khan and Kaleelmullah.
Oman collapsed in batting
After a decent performance in bowling, Oman thought the target would be chasable but it turned out to be a nightmare. Starting of the innings they lost the wicket and couldn’t manage to stay on the field batters were losing their wicket at regular intervals. Ayaan Khan and Mehran Khan were the only ones who scored the maximum runs from the team so they were able to score just 125 runs and lost the match by 39 runs.

After registering 164 onboard it’s now time for bowlers to show their performances and they adhered to their words. Mitchell Starc Nathan Ellis and Adam Zampa picked 2 wickets while Marcus Stoinis who shined with the bat also shined with the ball too he picked 3 wickets. During the match, we saw Mitchell Starc suffer an injury or kind of cramp while bowling so he moved toward the dressing room and bowled just 3 overs hope it’s not that serious. Marcus Stoinis was adjourned as Player of the Match.
